چکیده

Methods Consecutive patients (N 1⁄4 128) having previously undergone CABG surgery and referred for cardiac catheterization were randomized to radial or femoral access. The primary study endpoint was contrast volume. Secondary endpoints included fluoroscopy time, procedure time, patient and operator radiation exposure, vascular complications, and major adverse cardiac events. Analyses were by intention-to-treat.

Safety and feasibility of transradial approach for coronary bypass graft angiography and intervention.

The transradial approach (TRA) is commonly applied for coronary catheterization. However, there are few reports on the safety and feasibility of transradial catheterization in patients with prior coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. We retrospectively evaluated 124 consecutive patients who underwent graft angiography and intervention via the transradial (TRA group, n = 68) or transfemor...

Transradial Neurointerventional Approach to Basilar Tip Aneurysm: Case Report and Technical Note

Cerebral angiography through transfemoral approach is preferred in most of the situation though in cardiovascular surgery transradial angiography is accounted as the superior standard. The present study aimed at presenting our early experience of transradial approach to cerebral angiography and intervention of a patient with basilar tip aneurysm that had inappropriate vasculature to perform rou...

Beam projections and radiation exposure in transradial and transfemoral approaches during coronary angiography

OBJECTIVE We aimed to compare the operator and patient radiation exposure in standard projections during elective diagnostic coronary angiography procedures via transradial (TRA) versus transfemoral (TFA) approaches. METHODS In this analytical cross-sectional study, a total of 202 consecutive patients who were candidates for diagnostic coronary angiography were randomized to undergo the proce...

A Comparison of the Transradial and Transfemoral Approaches for the Angiography and Intervention in Patients with a History of Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery: In-hospital and 1-year Follow-up Results

BACKGROUND Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) through transradial approach (TRA) has shown to be safe and effective as transfemoral approach (TFA) among unselected patients. However, very few studies have compared the outcomes between TRA and TFA specifically in patients with a history of coronary artery bypass grafting surgery (CABG). METHODS A total of 404 post-CABG patients who had u...

Central Vascular Complications Following Elective Catheterization Using Transradial Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Percutaneous coronary intervention is commonly used to treat coronary artery disease. Both transradial and transfemoral approaches are applied. In general, fewer complications are seen with the transradial approach compared to the transfemoral access, for which reason the transradial catheterization is frequently preferred. In this case presentation, we describe 2 cases of elective transradial ...
